Culinary Dropout

On any given weekend I'm happy to enjoy a meal at one of the many wonderful restaurants in the Austin area.

This lovely Saturday evening I met up with a few friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. The place of choice was Culinary Dropout at the popular Domain in North Austin.

This very busy establishment lives up to it's reputation. With a large indoor area and an even larger and covered outdoor space, the restaurant was busy with about an hour wait upon our arrival. The hostess took my name and let us now we would get a text as soon as our table was ready.

We sat by the bar and ordered drinks while we waited. About 50 minutes later we were escorted to our assigned table, outside.

The very attentive server acknowledge our presence and took more drink orders besides bringing us water.

One of my friends ordered a meat and cheese board and we added the scrumptious Brussels Sprouts to it and we shared it. It was well put together and delicious.

We chose our meals shortly after. I had been there on other occasions  and loved everything I had consumed, so I chose a different dish this time. It was not an easy decision and I ended up going with the Roasted Salmon.

It was baked to perfection, flaky, and soft in the inside, with a very light crunch on the outside. The salmon came accompanied by butternut farro risotto ~ to die for~, garden herb pesto and crispy Brussel Sprouts with garnishing. This is now one of my favorite dishes from the restaurants at the Domain.

Once we finished dinner, my sweet tooth was calling and one of my friends and I walked across the street to Frost Gelato. If you fancy a cold dessert, do yourself a favor and check this place out. I did not count how many flavors they have but there are a ton, and they all look and sound absolutely delicious! I opted for two scoops, peach and strawberry; I was in a fruity mood. I don't remember what my friend had, but I tasted them too and they were just as good as mine.

Be healthy, be happy.
